Coming soon: Engine number FP58991UE. It's back from the machine shop, and will soon be ready for a test run.
Engine number FM45763UE This engine came to me as a core. I was told it was just tired with a lot of miles on it but no failures. I tore it down, inspecting each part. It clearly needed to be bored and rebuilt. It has been bored to .020 over, the crankshaft cleaned up at .010 under on the mains and .040 on the rods. The cam bearing surfaces were very good so it was just checked for alignment and new camshaft was installed. It received new oversized, flat-top pistons, bearings, small end rod bushings, valve guides, valve springs, rocker shaft, ARP head bolts and oil pump. The rotating assembly was balanced and the pistons and rod weights were equalized. The updated modifications were made as described above in the Getting Your Engine Rebuilt. All the JMAC ENGINE SHOP work was done as described in Getting Your Engine Rebuilt. The end float is .003. I had the machine shop shave .030 off the TKC2796 low compression head to increase the compression. This head does not have air rail ports. The covers are powder-coated red. I put this engine in my rolling test stand (MG Midget) and took if for a run up drive. It did very well with plenty of power. Startup oil pressure was 79psi. It held 61psi oil pressure at 3000rpm once it warmed up. The water temp. leveled out at 175 degrees (78 degrees outside air temp). I drove it approx. 12 miles and retorqued the head and adjusted the valves when I returned to the shop. I did a compression test on all cylinders; 1-175psi, 2-170,3-175, 4-180. No oil or water leaks were found and no drips on the floor after an hour. Here is my rebuild completion video on this engine, click here. This engine is ready to ship. I have rebuilt 2 rubber bumper Midgets and I am in the process of rebuilding a 1970 Midget. I bought an assortment of parts from a 4th Midget that I have been using when rebuilding cars. I have some parts left over that I will put on here as I get them cleaned up and ready.
